History & Significance
The World Peace Pagoda was built as part of a worldwide initiative by Japanese Buddhist monk Nichidatsu Fujii, founder of the Nipponzan-Myōhōji order. The goal was to promote world peace through the construction of peace pagodas across different countries.
The Pokhara Shanti Stupa is one of many such pagodas around the world, representing a shared hope for harmony among nations and communities.
